About

My name is Peter Harding, I am a technologist. I have supported networked electronic devices for more than a decade.

I have worked mostly within the windows ecosystem but have also spent time with various incarnations of mac and unix. I have been an mcse, systems admin, desktop support tech, telecom admin, it manager, management consultant. I am a bit of a generalist.

I am not a rabid fan boy of any particular platform as long as it gets the job done. I am really uncomfortable with vendor lock-in and find that open standards and data formats are the best way to ensure interoperability between many different systems. I sympathize with the role that free (as in freedom) software has in a free society. Lately I find that the linux world satisfies my need to tinker.

This blog is mostly about efficient, open, and low cost technology but it may wander into other things that interest, or bother me from time to time.

Please contact me if you have any projects you would like assistance with in the London, Ontario, Canada area.
